Would a Canadian Med School Admissions Spreadsheet Actually Be Useful? Looking for Feedback and Ideas

Hey everyone!

I know data analysis. My sister is starting her pre-med journey, and after watching her try to sort through many websites, PDFs, and reports just to compare schools, I realized how scattered and difficult Canadian med school admissions data really is.

Because of that, I’m planning to use my summer to build a centralized + visual spreadsheet to help my sister, and I started wondering whether it could also be useful if I made it public. While I’m personally more interested in data science than medicine, seeing how overwhelming and scattered the information is made me want to organize it conveniently.

I’m planning to create a Google Spreadsheet that combines admissions data from Canadian medical schools (potentially including multi-year trends, GPA/MCAT stats, interview formats, IP/OOP preferences, and demographics) with separate tabs for each school for easier comparison.

Since I’m not going into medicine myself, I also wanted to ask... does this even seem like a useful idea from your perspective? Does something like this already exist? I’m trying to figure out if something like this would actually help people, or if I’m overthinking. I’d GENUINELY appreciate honest feedback on whether it’s worth pursuing.

If it is something you'd use, I’d love to hear from you:

- What data do you wish were easier to compare? (e.g., CASPer weighting, CARS cut-offs, etc.)

- Are there specific trends or visualizations you’d want included?

- What information do you find yourself constantly searching for?

- Which schools outside of Ontario should I prioritize next? If reports are public, I'd love to analyze and add them to the spreadsheet.

I want to make something that’s actually useful for applicants instead of just compiling numbers randomly, so I’d really appreciate hearing your perspective!

TL;DR: I’m building a public Canadian med school admissions spreadsheet (starting with Ontario schools) and want to expand it. I’m looking for input on what data, comparisons, or visuals would actually be most useful for pre-med applicants so I can organize everything in one place.
