My cat and i recently moved to a smaller space with less going on overall, so i thought it would be a good idea to buy a harness and take him on some leash walks for enrichment. He now begs to go out(lol) and we do it on a daily basis, but we rarely get very far from the door before something scares him and he runs back inside. It's been like this for the past 4 months.

Any tips on how to help him relax? He's very curious and clearly wants to be outside, he just gets scared of strangers, noises etc.
