Hear me out.
When I was a kid, I would notice how seemingly unrelated items may fit into each other or how things may be timed and sync up with each other.
Examples include:
- A coffee cup that a specific TV remote slides into perfectly
- A shoebox that a random book fits into like it was molded to it
-A tupperware lid that happens to fit a pot it was never sold with
-Two clocks in different rooms that tick audibly in unison for a moment
-A turn signal that briefly syncs with someone else's in traffic (this one was a major one)
-Elevator doors from two different elevators opening at the same time across a hall
I was fascinated by things that sync up and ascertained that there must be a reason for this, and realized that there must be a secret committee somewhere deciding on the standard measurements of things so that everything fits perfectly, if I could only find it! I termed this to be The Conspiracy of Measurements and began to find evidence everywhere.
Now, I am a boring adult, and such things like the conspiracy of measurements are largely forgotten in a world made painfully familiar, though I still notice when 3 cars in a turning lane all have their turn signals sync up for a few seconds and smile.
What about you?
