Hi everyone,
I’m currently studying Korean in Korea on a D-4 visa (language program at a university), and I’m thinking about applying for a D-10 (job-seeking visa) after I finish my course.
I’ve been checking the requirements and the points-based system, and I think I might meet many of the conditions, but I’m not sure if switching directly from D-4 to D-10 is actually possible in practice.
My situation:
- Currently on D-4 (language student)
- Planning to finish level 6
- Planning to take TOPIK before finishing the program
- I have a university degree (from Spain)
- I don’t have much work experience yet, since I graduated in Spain, came to Korea, and only worked for less than a year. Also, with the student visa, working hours are quite limited
- I’m aiming to find a job in Korea afterwards
My questions:
- Has anyone successfully changed from D-4 to D-10?
- Did you apply directly, or did you need to switch to another visa first?
- How strict is the points system in reality?
- Do you think my profile would realistically qualify?
I’d really appreciate hearing about real experiences 🙏
