[AZ] FMLA and Vacation
Hi, I am an Employee for a Big Company, we get 3 weeks of vacation per year but as exempt employees we don’t need to log anything.
I recently got approved for Reduced Schedule under FMLA, due to mental health issues. Therefore, I work 3 days per week T-W-T, and I am off every Monday and Friday. FMLA is paid, so, my employer pays for 24 hrs of payroll per week and FMLA pays for 16 hours.
I have had panic attacks and I am really burned out, I am considering taking some vacation days to take a real break from recent stress. But this is what I am trying to figure out:
If I take 2 weeks off, does it all count as vacation? Or, does it count as 6 vacation days given the existing FMLA?
Last week I took one day off and obviously counted as 1 out of 15 vacation days I get per year. So, would it be different if want to combine my vacation days with my current schedule?
