I have been offered a position as a trainee solicitor at the firm I currently work for. This would effectively tie me into the company for the next 3 years although my salary would double after 2 and they pay for me to qualify.
Only issue is I am sick of commuting into my local town and the office and the general social life of my firm. The work also isn’t the most interesting but is good for future career options.
On the flip I have been offered a paralegal role in a really nice firm in the city. It has a much better social environment and the work area is very interesting. Of course it’s a step down from a trainee position.
Deep down I want change but also I’m scared of giving up a golden opportunity like a training contract.
