Hi everyone . Our current car is getting old and I have been doing some research on what car could be the most adapted to our needs. After doing my investigation on what are the best brands and models and the one to avoid . I am feeling quite overwhelmed and not sure what to look for anymore.

I am looking for a medium to large SUV Reliable and cheap to run and maintain. our budget is around 15 k. It needs to be euro 6 as we live in the ULEZ area of London . We are quite outdoorsy and must say we treat our car like an utilitarian vehicle, tend to carry a lots of things around .We also have 2 boys under 10 and don't want to be too stressed about stains and other damages . I don't care much about infotainment either. Practicality over style . But I would like to still find something with a good driving experience. I have been eyeing the usual recommendations like Tiguan , Xc 60, cx 5, rav4 ... I have found that each time I am settled on a model I read stories about oil consumption , cylinder désactivation . Timing belt issues.... Maybe I am over thinking it and should just find a good vehicle with service history but I was wondering if maybe I missed something .
