Genuinely curious — do you follow up? If so, what do you say and how long do you wait?

I've talked to a bunch of guys who just don't bother. Not because they don't want the job, but because they don't know what to text that doesn't sound like a spam template. Wondering if that's common or if I'm just talking to the wrong people.
