What career paths combine interior design industry knowledge with supply chain/procurement in Canada?
I completed a Bachelor’s in Interior Design in India, followed by postgraduate certificates in Supply Chain Management and Global Business Management in Canada. I’ve also worked as an Inventory Handler at an automated machine manufacturing company.
Now I’m looking to upskill and move into a long-term career with good salary growth, flexibility, and stability.
I’m still interested in the interior design industry, but not necessarily the actual designing side. I feel my background could fit roles related to procurement, sourcing materials, vendor management, operations, or supply chain for interior design, furniture, architecture, or construction companies.
I think I understand what design firms need from both the creative and operational side, so I’m wondering if there are careers that combine both areas.
For people working in Canada:
- What career paths would you recommend?
- Which skills/certifications are worth learning? I am thinking of learning SQL.
- Are there high-paying roles where this combination of experience is valuable?
Would appreciate any advice from people in procurement, interiors, construction, manufacturing, or supply chain.
