Being an expat daughter on a Parents day

Hi everyone, I’m a bit traumatised and just need to rant… please understand.

Context: My Korean parents have 2 kids who both live in overseas. My brother(30sM) in the middle east & myself(20sF) in Europe.

Every year I send a message on parents day, and as soon as I was could I also send them 용돈. I also message them frequently daily.
My brother on the other hand, doesn’t even bother to let us know if he’s OK, even when the war broke out. So there’s that.

This morning at I woke up to a call from my dad who yelled at me for not calling them on a parents day. He said he’s SO upset that I never do anything for them on this particular day in the last decades of raising me. I pointed out that I do it every year, and this year I misjudged the time due the being in a new country. He wouldn’t have it…

And when I told him that he should call my brother and say the same thing to him, he abruptly hung up. Mumbling how him & I are not the same…

And he wonders why I choose to live overseas.

Edit; typo
