What are your opinions on Goodreads?

I've been on goodreads for years. But honestly the UI kinda sucks. You can't search for people seamlessly, it's very slow and I also noticed that you can't filter the reviews by the number of stars.

Are there any other apps that you guys use to socially connect with other readers or maintain a track of the books you've read/TBR?

I am a software developer and me and a friend have been thinking for a long time to develop a more mainstream app for readers. Thoughts?

Butter by Asako Yuzuki

I'm not sure what to feel about this book. I picked it up randomly thinking that the blurb sounded interesting and that it'd be a thriller. But this is just the surrounding plot of the book. It's about Rika a reporter, her best friend, Reiko and Manako Kajji, a woman held for the murder of 3 men. Rather than the murders themselves, it's about Rika's conversations with Kajji and how they affect her thoughts and lifestyle.
The book offers interesting insights about Japanese cuisine, culture, feminism, journalism and friendship.
I really wish that the culinary descriptions were a bit more concise, like I get it. It's just rice and butter. Don't drone about it for 5 pages.

Curious to know your thoughts about the book.

Tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

Fun fact, this book was suggested to me by the bookstore owner and had been lying in my TBR for a while. I finally picked it up a few days back and I'm in love. It follows the lives of three friends Sam, Sadie and Marx who create games together.
Things that I liked about the book:

  1. Easy and interesting to read, I finished it in two sittings
  2. The intimacy and chemistry between the three characters. How they all fit in together so perfectly
  3. The inclusion of very subtle social commentary about sexism and racism
  4. The fact that the only video game I've ever played is Mario, and the video game aspect of the story never bugged me.
  5. The childhood chapters. Reading them made me feel so warm.
  6. The vivid game descriptions.

Edit: I see many downvotes and comments saying that it's very bad. No complaints. Reminds me of when I wrote this post and got bashed left and right 👀 .

Why Ruru will be one of my favorite contestants of all time

No offense to anyone, but initially when I heard that Ruru was coming I was prepared to hate her because I loved Yogesh and Akanksha. But honestly she grew on me. She's the kind of girl I'd love to befriend. Personally I am biased towards any contestant that doesn't make this show their entire personality. Usually the contestants that we see on this show are quite similar in the sense that they're mostly models and their hobbies are dancing or working out. So the fact that she has a career as a DJ and also cosplays is a breath of fresh air. Side note, her makeup is also stunning. She performed well in every task, had a very cute love angle, is empathetic and also dances well. She'll always stand out to me, and not due to Yogesh. Because of who she is.

I liked Anjali also for the same reason. Her art is spectacular and she has a great modelling career going on for her.

Love dens this season

Akanksha-Gauresh: boring and bland. Akanksha looked pretty but she was obviously into Yogesh and Gauresh was trying too hard.

Sadaf-Tayne: totally unbearable because of the fights. This entire season they've just been arguing. You could've done that in the villa or task, didnt require a love den for that.

Ruru-Yogesh: Literally the only good love den with actual cute moments like when he sang for her. Very sly of the editors to romanticise the moments where he was talking about Akanksha, but they seemed so in love. Justified the title.

Gullu-Kaira: Firstly, my gripe is why did they get to go the love den out of the blue? Why not sorab-niharika or any other couple? Seemed kinda biased. I think the makers were trying hard to show was chemistry but the sulky looks that Gullu gave after reading the envelope spoke volumes. Even there Kaira bbg wtf was that outfit change😭😭. I skipped most of it. Very tryhard from Kaira's end and Gullu didn't seem into it.

All in all, the only couple who justified the concept of love den was Ruru-Yogesh. I wish they got couples who looked actually in love like Sorab-Niharika.

Lemme know if I missed someone.

I started doing makeup a few months ago. What are some ideas to improve this?

In the pictures I've used an eyeliner, concealer, blush, lipliner and lipgloss. Would more sparkly or bold eye looks suit me?

This gloss is really hydrating and feels light on the lips, although the color payoff is not much. 10/10 recommended.

Wearing MAC lipliner in the shade Plum and the lipgloss in the shade Posh.
