Anyone had a big spot that turned out to be early stage?

I convinced my boyfriend (26) to go to a dermatologist for the first time since he has a lot of bigger moles. The doctor didn't like one of the spots and my boyfriend just got it cut out. According to my boyfriend it used to be a normal mole that started changing, developing some dots around it etc. He said he just thought it was because of growing up and ignored it. I found a picture from 1.5year ago and I can see it really changed a lot during that time. It was already irregular back then but it looks very different currently. It was about 1cm in width, irregular colour (but different shades of brown), irregular edges and growing... I'm just terrified. I know it might not even be melanoma but I'm in a state where if I find out it's anything below stage 3, I will cry of happiness, I'm very sorry if I'm insensitive.

I just came here for some reassurance, did any of you have a large spot or one that changed a lot or was on your body long but turned out to be in situ or early stage? I'm terrified and I just want to calm down enough to be able to work and live normally until the results come...

I have a student who doesn't read my messages, she's an older lady so I guess she doesn't have the Preply app on her phone or check her e-mail much, it gets on my nerves a little when I send her some homework or revision materials an hour or two after hour class and she just doesn't read them.

I was just going through our chat history and I noticed that in A LOT of places I still have the little "Sent" text even though she sent me multiple messages after those messages. I'm wondering if it's some kind of bug where she doesn't see my messages? Even when we have class she doesn't really mention that I sent her something, I'm wondering if this happened to any of you?

I've only blocked one person in over 4 months of teaching on Preply but right now I have a student that I really don't want to teach... I've had a bad feeling about him from just texting him before his trial and I really regret not having blocked him then but with every class I just feel more and more ucomfortable. He doesn't read any of my messages, even though I mention that I will send him homework, he doesn't self study at all. He keeps commenting on my English (I have other native English students and they never complain and understand everything I say), not in a directly rude way but enough to make me feel self conscious. He also cusses in classes, it's not directed towards me, but still.

I talked to the AI support and it says that there is no way I could get my profile hidden for blocking a student and that if a student makes me feel uncomfortable and cusses in class, I should use the "I don't want to teach this student option". But I remember seeing comments on this sub to never use that option. So I'm curious if you use the other options? I wonder if I use "harrassment" won't there be any reaction from Preply towards the student or questions to me to prove that the harrassment took place?

Hello, I teach my native language, not English, and most of my students really understand the importance of revision and putting in work. Sometimes however I get messages from people who say "Will you able to teach me without me studying outside of class?" and usually saying they don't have time. I haven't experienced it yet but I've also seen some tutors having negative reviews about lack of progress and answering to them saying that the student didn't progress because they didn't study at all outside of class.

I wonder how different tutors approach such students. Do you actually organise lessons in a way where you teach like 5 words in an hour to make the student actually remember them? Or do you explain to them that it's impossible to make progress without putting in work outside of class.

I also feel like some of my students think that revision just means they will read the material one time, and not actually memorize it... Even if I send them quizlet sets, they seem to just do it one time instead of using it to memorize the material.

Before Preply I've never really had a student that made feel like they don't know they have to study to be able to learn a language...
