Not sure if this comes under the Exploding Head Syndrome topic or Sleep paralysis. But sometimes I have these dreams, usually at the start of falling asleep or presumably before REM stage, where I’m in my house or say a railway station, there’s the usual ambient sounds. Then suddenly as if there’s a power cut, everything goes black and DEAD silent. To a point the silence actually jolts me awake. One dream I recall was being at a house during the day , looking out the window and suddenly the lights went off with a sudden flash and even the day turning immediately to night. It can be quite alarming.
