I finally decided to try spoofing, going for the gps joystick route. Trying to root my phone aaand I realized xiaomi has a different way of unlocking the bootloader than other phones. Which sucks.

I'm bit confused cause different guides says different things, but the most important problem for me is: I don't have a spare sim card. It keeps asking for a sim card with mobile data but I only have my work card, which does not have free internet on it. Why can't I just use wifi? Is there a way to bypass this? Or I need to now buy sim card just to throw away later?

Also, some guides said to downgrade from HyperOS to Miui while others said it's easier on HyperOS, while others said it's luck based if anyone gets approved from the xiaomi community to unlock. Can someone share their experience who unlocked their phone recently?

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 15 with HyperOS 2.
