Hey, my girlfriends cat is 7 years old and she’s had him since he was a kitten. As he’s gotten older (this began in the last 1-2 years) he just hates being inside, he will practically scream at night to be let outside which results in him wandering off and sometimes not coming home for days. Generally he will just lounge around during the day but he’s decided that night time is when he wants to be out and it’s just non stop screaming until he’s let out.

He’s come home a few times clearly having been fighting other cats as he’s got cuts on him. Any advice on how I can change this?

He’s not neutered, 7 year old male ginger cat. A catio isn’t really an option for him currently, sadly.

My plan is to bring him to the vet soon to get him neutered, hopefully this weekend but any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
