I am not a Doctor or expert. These are purely observations and I’m seeking advice on how to address it or your thoughts on whether it’s appropriate to be addressed at all.

So I’ve been working with a 2.5 y/o girl for a month now. She’s super sweet and bright. She is incredibly smart! Can identify each letter of the alphabet, remembers things quickly, can count to 20 (and probably higher), knows her animal sounds, names, and so much more!

Here’s what I’ve noticed:
-She is verbal, but it’s mainly her language. I’d say about 75% of it are her own sounds/words. You can sometimes catch a word here and there. She does use full sentences sometimes. Ex: “Itsy Bitsy spider” or “I am drawing a cat”.

-She does what I believe may be “stimming”. She does various movement variations. What stands out the most is humping?

-She doesn’t respond to her name and when you’re speaking to her often. She won’t respond but she’s definitely listening because I’ll say something about a future action and later on she remembers.

-She walks into things that are right in front of her or in close proximity.

There are others but I’ll leave it there.
How do I address this to parents? Do I address it at all? She beautiful and smart in every way so my thoughts are not to demean to express judgement. I have worked with toddlers for over a decade and just observe things. There are “general” guidelines but each child is different.
