Hi all!

New to here so sorry if this has already been answered.

Have been on 100mg of Sertraline for over 7/8 years now. I have been chatting to my doctor recently and we talked about a change of medication as it is not really doing anything for me lately at all.

We are thinking of changing me to Lexapro, and she mentioned a direct switch, but I had bad advice from a doctor a few years ago when trying to taper off Sertraline which caused what I can only describe as the frying of my brain and basically I haven’t been right since (have experienced extreme ocd since this ) It’s like it changed something in me.

So I’m scared to change anything mediation wise, even though I know I need to do something, so I’m hoping to gently cross switch instead. I was just wondering if anyone else has cross switched and if so, what sort of tapering/increasing did you do that left you with minimal side effects ? I can appreciate it is very different for each individual, just looking for some stories so I can recommend what I think is best to my doctor when I go back next week :)
