What do you think is the best/most enjoyable way to test homeland factions with only 2 players? Bats vs Lylipad + bots? Or a bunch of hirelings? I'm guessing knaves are totally not viable

love the hireling concept and flavour, struggle with the ruling sometimes (think they may be a little more clear in the rulebook, but maybe i'm missing some resources).
Does forest patrol allow you to move/battle with your warrior/pieces (vagabond?) or only with the Patrol warriors? Does this movement need to respect clearing's ruling?
