First Time Binder Cover Artwork - Help?

So, for context, I’m just getting back into this hobby after almost 30 years. My four year old loves pokemon and, while he prefers the coins and toys, I stupidly decided to build a Pokédex. Two, actually. One with full arts (modern cards are so much cooler than the vintage ones) and a normal one with holographic cards.

Well, for my full art one, I decided I wanted to make it look cool. I started seeing people paint them, which sounds cool. I’ve never done anything with animation, but I found a few pictures that I would like to try to paint or something onto the cover.

Now here’s where I’m lost; what and how can I do this where it looks good.

Planned pictures to show the type of art I want to use.
