I work in a Burlington, Vermont. My building was historically the warehouse that was formerly the Vermont Milk Chocolate Factory that burned down 100 years ago. Any re-building likely happened post fire in 1918-1920.

I am worried that The pipe wrap visible here shows several characteristics that more closely match classic asbestos pipe lagging, and critically, it appears to be actively shedding fibers.
Should i he worried about being directly under these pipes ?
