[Omega Seamaster] At the beach

Weather’s been getting quite nice, and to me it seems like a perfect time to start wearing a diver more often! My 2252.50 SMP 300 is the epitome of the dive watch for me, and its size makes it elegant while still retaining its rugged characteristics - among those that stand out to me are the aluminum bezel, helium valve, painted hour markers instead of the standard applied and metal bordered, and the sword hands. I’m contemplating taking sailing lessons this summer, if I end up doing that, I know what watch I’ll be wearing…

This is my 29mm santos galbee in an ivory dial configuration, with a quartz movement. It’s a beautiful piece and the highest end in my collection. When I first got this I was surprised at how lightweight and how thin it is, it’s just slightly heavier than my Casio AQ230. It’s the lightest in my luxury watch collection by far, which is surprising considering it’s my only true two tone piece. I can’t help but feel how delicate it is, especially considering I come from a more sports watch based collection. Every scratch on it feels like a tragedy!

Just picked up this ivory dial galbee in the most pristine condition I’ve seen a galbee come in. It’s like the original owner bought it and kept it for special occasions for 20 years. I’m planning to wear it often, but before I do that I’m still debating between ivory and the classic plain white dial. Ivory’s certainly rarer, but the white is crisp and might contrast better against my skin tone. What do you guys think?
