After pausing the game and walking away for a while the message about the controller came up. When I reactivated it, the cursor had disappeared from all menus and no cursor sounds happened. Thankfully the cursor was moving invisibly so I was able to save and exit. Cursor was also gone on the main menu. Restarting the game fixed it.

Loving Arty-Facts! Thankfully this didn’t disrupt me much.
