What's the use case for the "linearize helix" option in MasterCam?
Linearize helix takes your contour and breaks it down into x/y line segments instead of using G2/G3 arcs, and I just don't get why I would ever want to do this. It isn't faster(at least in my limited experimenting), it spits out more code, and it makes your part look like ass. But surely if it's an option there must be some scenario where it's preferable and I've just never come across it. So what's the purpose? Why would I ever check that box?
