Based on the amount of parallax seen from traveling far to the south or north, Yggdrasil appears to be only a kilometer or so above the world. It also appears to curve downwards at the east end, and the tallest mountains can top 500 meters. This suggests that, on the right seed, with a tall mountain right at the East Pole, you might be able to get close.

Or, of course, failing that, if you use dev commands, you can build an arbitrarily-tall tower by spawning in some object that counts as terrain every so often. So you should theoretically be able to reach Yggdrasil that way, on any seed.

So has anyone ever done it? Is it solid? Can it anchor structures? Is it visible from above? Anything else cool about it?
