Considering replacing Digitakt 1 with Syntakt
I've been using the Digitakt for my drums (and only drums) for a while, and I'm considering trading it out for a Syntakt. Clip for reference to the kind of tunes that I'm making at the moment.
My main consideration is building textured kits. The control around synthesising drums is a big appeal for me, but I'm concerned about things sounding too digital/artificial (for lack of a better word). Snares in particular. I tend to layer snares with claps and organic sounds, so I'm keen to understand if sample machine in the Syntakt would allow me to achieve some good punchiness from synthesising drums alongside some organic textures from samples.
I'm also interested in seeing if there's anything to be gained around performability. My current workflow is to pre-build my drum patterns into the DT and perform by muting and unmuting tracks. I build fills but tend not to use them. Keen to see if the Syntakt could give me more immediate performability through the dedicated mod buttons.
