Shadows sometimes look random when I ink
When I ink, I tend to feel like the shadows (darks) look random, especially on characters. I try to be conscious of the light source when inking, but I often just do what I think looks "cool." Like on Deadpool for example. But it ends up looking random and a bit messy.
How can I improve my shadows for this drawing? Should I use more hatching? Bigger areas of dark shadows?
