As a scrobbling addict since 2012, it's safe to say I have a strange relationship with Last fm. I often wonder what the purpose is of maintaining the effort to keep my account and apps set up. Well one function it has been serving for me is helping me make sure my listening habits are both broad and deep.

Of course I love watching any number go up, whether it's scrobbles, artists, tracks, but I have a secret hidden number I watch: Number of Artists with 100 scrobbles or more. I picked 100 arbitrarily, since it just looks good, but it's also a good benchmark for number of scrobbles it takes to really absorb an artist. As you can see from my screenshot, I'm almost up to 400 artists over 100.

There are plenty of artists that require even more than 100 scrobbles... that's why I'm also working on getting 50 artists to 1000 scrobbles each (I think I'm only up to 9 or so)

How bout you? How many artists over 100 scrobbles do you have? What are some ways you use last fm to improve your listening experience?
