Wanted to make survival feel more human, so I added cigarette and alcohol dependency while you rebuild your own plane on an island

This project actually started as a plane mod for My Summer Car, but over time it slowly turned into its own game The Last Flight.

It’s a survival game where you explore a procedurally generated island world while restoring and maintaining your own aircraft piece by piece.

The setting takes place in an alternative timeline where humanity evolved around aviation technology, but eventually collapsed into a post-apocalyptic world.
Despite the advanced aviation culture, the most modern technology that still exists feels closer to our 90s era: analog instruments, worn machinery, old engines and old Internet holding everything together.

The engine is heavily inspired by the Rotax 912, and a big part of the gameplay is learning how to keep the machine and yourself alive.

The character depends on cigarettes and alcohol, adding another layer to resource management and atmosphere.

The demo version is also getting very close to release now.

A while ago I wanted to add a flyable plane into My Summer Car as a mod.

But I ran into engine limitations (old Unity version and harsh asset management...), and things started getting messy. So instead of fighting it, I slowly began building it as a separate project.

Now it’s turning into a full game called The Last Flight, where you assemble, repair and actually fly your own aircraft with a bit of that janky, hands-on feeling that made MSC so good. (at least I tried :'D)

I’m currently working towards a demo release on Steam soon.
