Light at the end of the tunnel?
(REUPLOAD SORRY!)
About 5 months ago I (24F) iniured mvself at work which only made a previous back iniury from a car wreck flair up again. For 5 months I have been dealing with the mosi excruciating pain I've ever felt. I can't walk for more than 10 minutes without feeling my leg burning, cramping or having a muscle spasm. I had to quit my dream job, I have lost out on major events with friends, and can't even spend time with my boyfriend if its not at home in bed, or at a Walmart or target in the dumb electric scooters. Well.. finally after 5 long and painful months, I have gotten the results of my MR that took me forever to get)! Unfortunately, I have TWC herniated discs and a third one thats bulging. Thankfully though, my neurologist said he is willing to perform a discectomy since other conservative methods haven't shown any improvements. My fear however is that even if I go through with the surgery, I can risk further back problems. Already I feel my upper back in pain (im assuming from overcompensating for my lower back being practicallv useless) and if I get the surgerv, would issues like this persist? My neurologist initially didn't want me to get surgery since im "too young" but upon seeing the MRI he switched tune pretty quick. If you've had a discectomy, how has it improved (or worsened) your life?
