Spa is switching from 60 min to 50 min sessions
Hello, I am looking for advice in articulating pro's of how my spa is currently doing bookings, and the potential con's of where they want to go.
We currently do 60 minute, 90 minute, and 120 minute services, with 15 minutes in between, 1 hour break. We work 10 hour shifts so from 9am-6pm.
They want to switch from 60 minute sessions with 15 minutes in between clients, to 50 minute sessions with 10 minutes in between clients.
Here's why I don't want to switch if possible.
I'd have to sacrifice some parts of my focus work, massages would be 45-ish minutes realistically, we'd do 8 services potentially, 10 minutes isn't enough IMO between clients.
My thoughts tend to be all over the place, I appreciate any help. IMO I've heard a select few massage therapist who are incredibly vocal say they want to make more money and we can do that by doing 50 minute massages.
EDIT: to answer some questions, I am commissioned based. Our 60 min pays about $104, this includes commission and 18% gratuity ( I work at a resort spa in Las vegas) We do 4 10 hour shifts Price per minute goes down, the longer the services becomes. I get paid more for doing 2 60 minute sessions, than doing 1 120 minute session. Clients also pay less per minute the longer the service is. We've been told our price for a 60 minute would be the price we use for a 50 minute. I am not worried about pay, I'm about 3 years into my career, money was never a priority, as I am in this for the long haul (or trying at least)
