Moving on, I see a lot of people talking about how the bathroom smell may be linked to Celestes body, but the wording or reports, it seems to allege that Celeste was already in frunk by July (which is when the stream happened)

Bodies start smelling 24 to 48 hours, It doesn't take nearly any time for your body to start getting bloated after you die.

The smell of a body is absolutely irrefutable. I don't think anyone would fail to distinguish a dead body's smell which is often compared to rotten eggs, rotten fruits and rotten fish over someone shitting in the bathroom. I do believe David was very paranoid regardless when it came to smell because I'm sure that he himself was having a very hard time masking Celeste smell when he was hiding her body in the Tesla or dismembering her.

Given Celeste's particular case, If not frozen, she would have already been in the bloating stage by the time David dismembered her. She would've already smelled repugnant, and by the time she was in the trunk(allegedly, since the timeline isn't entirely clear yet) her body would've been in active decay. She was in the trunk for 4 months (from may 5th to September 8th) her body would've been in advanced decay to skeletonation. Especially in such heat.

Using this chart as a reference, it can be theorized and I fear David meant to keep Celeste purposely decomposing so her body would be easier to get rid of in the future once it reached a skeletonized state. He was obviously paranoid of her ever being found, so perhaps keeping her in a vehicle seemed like a "safe" bet since he could transport her easily.

He obviously ran out of time and miscalculated how strong a body can smell.

I hate the image of such a beautiful, young girl with her whole life ahead of her ever be put in such a horrible state. I hope that after this case, more preventive measures are done and put in place to protect children in online media like games or talking apps like discord.
