25M, Mother’s Day Weekend is weird for me since I lost my mom. Distracting myself by making new friends!
Hey all, nice to meet ya. Like the title says, I’m looking to make some friends (LONG-TERM LOL) and it would serve as a nice distraction from what’s typically a tough weekend. A bit about me and then a bit about what I’m looking for out of a friend!
I’m super nerdy, I play a lot of video games (single player mainly, I’ve never been able to get into the co-op shooters like Fortnite and APEX or whatever else) like Stardew, Pokemon, Monster Hunter, TOMODACHI LIFE MY NEW ADDICTION, Zelda, Hades, Mario Party/Kart with friends, etc. I also enjoy anime and love to read a good book. Beyond the nerdy stuff, I love to cook! My beef curry rice is my specialty. When I’m not doing all that, I’m at my day job as a high school English teacher. Tenured so they’re stuck with me muahaha. I also love dad jokes, they’re my specialty and my goofy little party trick is that I can make a dad joke out of pretty much any subject and fit it into everyday conversation (ex. If you told me ocean, I’d say something like, “Don’t wave off these puns. Sea what I did there?”). I’ve had success finding friends in this sub before. In fact, one of them would like you to know that she says I’m, “funny and nice. He’s definitely ‘interesting’. He did push me to do something I needed to do which is a good friend thing to do” so there’s that review of me lol
If that sounds interesting, awesome! I’m ONLY looking for friends within the US (Canada is ok too) purely for the sake of timezones as I’m PST. Gender and whatnot doesn’t really matter? Kinda? Idk, I’ll be totally transparent and say that I tend to get along with women a LOT easier purely because of my friends (4 men and 12 women), my personality, my career being very female oriented, etc. Not necessarily opposed to anyone else I guess? Just being very upfront. Prefer my age range (23-27) as well. If you’d like to chat, please reach out! Give me a little intro, something to go off of rather than just “hey” or “sup”. Hoping to hear from ya!
