Please keep Bear in your thoughts.
My 12 year old malripoo Bear started trembling. Then panting. It was 6:30 pm and we had been out at human doctor leaving the boys home alone from 1 until 4. We usually take them with us but we didn't today. He was happy to see us come home, had his supper at 5:30 and served a bit thirstier than usual. Anyway we took him to the emergency vet- they treated him with muscle relaxant for the tremors and said they would like him to stay overnight for anti nausea drugs- he had thrown up his supper, and ivs but they were closing at 11 we could take him to a vet an hour away. I asked if they could give him an IV now and they did plus anti nausea and muscle relaxant and Valium, in case he was seizing.
We brought him home- we can take him to the other vet if necessary but I will stay up and watch him.
After they medicated him preparatory to going home he was crying in his sleep and even ind of howling at first from the anti nausea and valium- like some dogs are like after an operation but I held him on my lap and eventually, after we had been home two hours he wanted water and then more an hour later and then want to pee. He is sleeping now- a little twitchy, but not feverish and not panting or confused.
I think i made correct decisions but only time will tell.
