Grand Staircase, Bryce and Zion trip
Just finished our first trip to Utah - holy cow, I had no idea how gorgeous it would be. Sure, I saw pics - but they did not do it justice at all. Flew into Vegas and rented a camper van. Drove up to Escalante, the worked our way through Bryce and Zion so we could hit those mid-week. Hope was lost in Zion, it was packed the queue for the park shuttle was more than we were willing to endure - so it was just a drive-by. Also hit Red Rock Canyon west of Vegas, Valley of Fire northeast of Vegas, and Sand Hollow in Hurricane. (Sand Hollow was not in the original plan - this landed when we bailed on Zion. But if you've never had a chance to drive a side by side, I highly recommend it!!)
I have done a lot of eco-tourism in my time: the Hawaiian islands, the Galápagos Islands, New Zealand, Australia, the Caribbean - Utah is shoulder to shoulder with the best of them.
