I've been playing professionally for 25 years but just recently got into 5 strings. Currently own the following basses for studio/gigs that run a variety of styles (mainly country, pop, jazz):

'69 Jazz Bass

'75 P Bass

'97 Jazz Bass

2018 Fano PX4

2025 P Bass 5 string (added John East P retro Preamp)

How does everyone feel about the Stingrays for these varied type of gigs? Looking at a Stingray 5 HH special, how does the 18v vs 9v feel? Any changes in pickup sound? I like the variety of tone I can get from the pickups (compared to the split single of the P5) and they seem a little more versatile overall.

I think I'm sold just wanted to see what the general consensus is on them as it's a new world for me!
