USA, NY I've never seen mushrooms growing this close to running water
I was out hiking and saw these mushrooms growing from a fallen tree across a stream. I know fungi can be picky in regards to the humidity of their environment, so seeing these ones inches above a stream surprised me.
What species is this and is it fond of humid environments?
