Given Captain Clark’s Ottoman Empire…a pirate/explorer-themed shop, Async’s exploitation of the halls of the complex, and Clark venturing into a new world he doesn’t belong in..I’m getting strong colonization metaphors from this film so far.

Adding to that, in Kane’s series People Still Live Here, he touches on the colonial impact on Native Americans, so I feel it might be on his mind. Also, a character in the film wearing an “End Apartheid” t-shirt feels on-theme too.
