Why TWW is still my favorite political series - and which is yours?
There are quite a few truly outstanding political dramas: *Madam Secretary*, *House of Cards*, *Designated Survivor*, *The Diplomat*—to name just a few. And then, there is *Borgen* from Denmark. I like them all.
Each possesses its own distinct merits and unmistakable characteristics. They are all special—and not merely because, in the vast world of television series, there aren't that many of them—especially when compared to medical dramas.
I appreciate and enjoy them all immensely. Nevertheless, on my personal list of favorites, *The West Wing* holds the top spot.
For three reasons:
- There is so much about this series that I find particularly magnificent and cinematically unique.
- Aside from its cinematic qualities, it simply puts me in a good mood.
- And then it is the only series in which I like—or find deeply likable—every single one of the main cast members and key supporting characters, without exception. That is, indeed, truly unique.
I would love to hear about your favorite political series.
Do you have a definitive number one?
Do you have a favorite "politician"?
