Mazda cx9 2023 temperature fluctuation
Hey everyone,
I recently bought a 2023 Mazda CX-9 (2.5T) and noticed something I didn’t really pay attention to on my previous CX-5.
When I’m stuck in heavy traffic or long stop-and-go situations, I sometimes notice the temperature gauge creep slightly above its usual position. As soon as I start moving again, it drops back down pretty quickly.
Outside temp was only around 8°C and rainy, which surprised me a bit. No warning lights, coolant level looks normal, heat works fine, and the car drives perfectly otherwise.
Is this considered normal behavior on the CX-9 turbo models? I’ve seen a few people mention that these run warmer in traffic because of the turbo and larger size compared to the CX-5, but I wanted to hear from other owners.
Do your CX-9s do the same thing in traffic?
Thanks!
