Got 99.6%ile in JEE Main 2026, and I’m trying to figure things out. I’m only interested in coding/software roles, not really into ECE core stuff.

Had a couple of doubts about ECE at NIT Warangal:

Do top software companies (FAANG-type, etc.) allow ECE students to sit, or is there some bias vs CSE/M&C during shortlisting?
Is ECE workload manageable if I want to seriously do competitive programming on the side?
How is the grading in ECE at NIT Warangal? Is it lenient, and how tough is it to get a 9+ CGPA?
If my primary objective is to build a career in software and related domains, should I choose NIT Warangal ECE or NIT Trichy EEE?

I got around 99.6%ile in JEE Mains and I’m stuck between NIT Trichy EEE and NIT Warangal ECE.

I’m not really interested in core EEE/ECE roles — I mainly want to focus on coding and competitive programming, aiming for software roles.
