I've been daily driving my Neo60 with GMK DMG and Gateron Melodics for the past month and I can't get enough of it. But, I also wanted to find a suitable partner.
After more than a decade of using Apple Magic Mouse, I switched over to the ProtoArc trackball mouse.
I found the purple trackball to be the selling point for me lol anyone else got set ups like this to match?
I needed something to dip my toes into and got the ProtoArc EM01.
It’s slowly replacing my Apple Magic Mouse and hoping it can begin seeing more productivity in my design progression as it’s currently used on apps like Figma, Lightroom, Photoshop and Illustrator.
For Figma, I can see the benefit of panning across screens and easily selecting components in batches, and it’s been a pleasure to use over my Magic Mouse.
I’m hoping to continue learning it as hopefully get a more customizable version or other options.
After 13 years of using Apples Magic Mouse (v1 and v2) on all kinds of design applications (which has me feeling torn right now) I bought this bad boy to give it a run on Figma and see if it makes me more productive and/or efficient.
It took me a little bit to get used to it but I can feel the difference of not having to move my hand anymore and rely on my thumb and pointer finger for selecting and dragging components.
Working with a 60% keyboard is also helpful as all I need are command and spacebar to pan and copy elements.
Only item in still getting used to is using the scroll wheel for the zoom, but other than that this is a heck of a tool for saving desk space and working in Figma.
Anyone else use trackballs?
