Never planted a tree before. I think part of the issue I’m having was that I planted it too deep. I read that the root flare needs to be exposed. Is it exposed enough? Did I over do it?

It’s an Okame cherry tree. Been having issues with leaves turning yellow and some leaves shriveling as well. I planted it about a couple weeks back and it looks sad. Maybe I’m underwatering it? Soil feels cool, dry, but moist in some parts. Planted in NJ.
