Natural 20 is an RPG mod for Hytale: Skyrim-style quests and dialogue with ARPG-style loot and progression, wrapped in a D&D theme. Multi-phase quests with d20 skill checks are the core gameplay loop, and leveling, loot, and tiered encounters all scale to support questing.

Quests come as multi-phase chains: a single one can walk you from a tavern conversation to a peaceful chest errand to a tinted boss fight, paying XP and a freshly rolled item at each phase rather than one bundle at the end. Six objective types span Collect Resources, Kill Mobs, Kill Boss, Fetch Item, Peaceful Fetch, and Talk to NPC. Every NPC carries a procedurally generated name and a per-player disposition that persists across sessions; when one offers a `[Persuasion]` line, the game rolls 1d20 + your modifier + proficiency against a Difficulty Class. Natural 20 always passes, natural 1 always fails, and skill-check passes pay the same XP as a boss kill.

Every Nat20 encounter is a tinted pack: 1 named boss with 3-7 affixed champions, colored green / blue / purple / gold by difficulty tier. Bosses carry Diablo-style compound names (Bloodwound the Hunter, Soulrend the Mauler) and drop loot every kill, with tier-stacked bonus rolls so a Legendary often pays out three or more pieces. Packs anchor at fixed quest sites and turn up as ambient surface encounters during travel.
