Hello, this is my first post on reddit and I just needed a second opinion on if the termination of my discord account was “rightful” or not. So first off, I’m a neurodivergent person who struggles with friendships/relationships which is why I’m on discord in the first place, it’s easier for me to join communities in which I like and fixate on. This is important for later:)
So the reason I got banned was for being in a server which had graphic and violent content. The reason I was in the server to begin with was because my friend had invited me to it after I had asked her if she knew anyway that I could get nitro because I don’t have much money and a lot of my friends in that server did have nitro causing me to feel kind of left out especially since I usually use emojis to deliver tone better and I’m very focused on how my profile looks on every platform. Anyway, so once my friend invited me to the server, it took me to this verification page, which if you’ve been on that specific side of Twitter or TikTok or Reddit or anything, you’ll know that they call the layers of skin things like cat scratches, and beans and styro—but so on the verification page, it had a lot of roles and you could select which layer of skin you wanted to see so once I saw that I screenshotted it and I sent it back to the server where I asked my friend what it was about and everybody in the server, including me, was clearly disgusted with what we assumed to be past the verification page based off the roles.
I never verified in it which means I didn’t see anything. I didn’t see the photos of people cutting themselves I didn’t see any photos of people starving I didn’t see the replies nor did I make any since I wasn’t there. I have proof that I was disgusted and I have proof that people who interact with that side of twitter are in my DNI list since I don’t want to associate with anybody who romanticizes that stuff. My problem was, I’d forgotten to leave the server. I joined the server on April 25th, late at night so maybe midnight on the 26th but I had forgotten to leave as it was in this folder of servers before I was banned on the 27th.
Now I understand fully that it was my fault for forgetting to leave, however due to my condition as well as stress I have a terrible memory and forget important things all the time. That isn’t an excuse; but even if I didn’t forget; I wasn’t involved in the server in any way. I wasn’t verified, I didn’t see anything, send anything, text, call, send photos, nothing. I had nobody from the server added either, so I didn’t break their TOS which says not to encourage, share or praise any acts of violence/graphic content.
I just need a second opinion on this since I’ve already appealed, sent an email to BBB as well as sent an arbitration letter and I’m scared my friends are being biased especially since I’ve never been in trouble with discord before.
I’m sorry if it’s long, doesn’t make sense or if there’s unimportant parts; I’m very wired right now and it’s late so my brain isn’t wording things properly. I’m not going to be posting the proof as to keep my identity anonymous.
