What to look for, questions to ask when buying used

Hello first post here. I am looking at fb marketplace and local OfferUp for a used full set. Budget 200-300 for full club set up w/ or w/o bag.

I am somewhat familiar with brands since I bought new clubs for my daughter back when she played hs team golf.

But now I’d like to learn to play but not sure about fit or certain tells about whether clubs have been abused, old styles that won’t work for a beginner, or certain clubs I should avoid.

I’m 5’8”, male, almost 60. I work out 5-6x/week (cardio and weights) but resting for a couple weeks due to a recent mild stroke.

Practicing almost daily then I felt pain in my kneecap so got a patella strap and it works.

Learning to keep my arms tucked in more but I struggle to keep my left hand from either trailing off or keeping up with my right so it tends to trip me up under my right foot.

And I still jump a bit too high, especially as I get tired I then start to kick up in the back. Little steps.

My goal is to eventually learn boxer skip and have a smoother flow. Hopefully before end of the year.
