Hi all,
On Thursday, I had my front two teeth extracted due to root resorption and got a bone graft done. I wore braces for a long time in middle and high school (6 years), and in the process, apparently, my body decided to go after the root, and my teeth became mobile and very loose. The extraction went very smoothly- day 4 now, no complications except some mild pain and sensitivity.
I have an Essix retainer to wear "for aesthetics" (not meant to be worn for eating) and had a flipper made to use for eating. However, my dentist told me on Friday that my teeth aren't ready for the flipper, and I need to wait four to six weeks. I'm very, very anxious about how to navigate eating around others in that time. I should be ready for implants by the end of the year. I've never had any sort of oral surgery, so this has all been overwhelming. How did you approach those situations? Any tips or tricks?
Also, dating? Did you go full monk? Or did you make it work?
Thank you so much.
