I’ve been working in my current tri-department role for 2 years now, although I have 7 year experience in the food industry (restaurants and manufacturing) The multi-plant company is expanding the all 3 departments that I cover responsibilities for and I have noticed a discrepancy in salary. I am looking for advice on how to position myself to ask for internal market match for my unique role in the company.

Role 1 (>40%) - $82,000 posted job within the company

Role 2 (>30%) -$88,000 posted job within the company

Role 3 (30%<) - $75,000 posted job within the company

I obtain the same qualification and responsibilities for Role 1, Role 2 same responsibilities although I don’t have a preferred certification level, but I do have the required certification level. Role 3 I act as support when they need an extra hand.

I think it’s also important to note that majority of the company is based in a location that has lower cost of living than I do. I am located further away which is why I also work within the 3 departments and my cost of living is conservatively 20% higher than where the posted job location is.

My apologies for not sharing the job titles as they are quite unique and specific to the company and I would like to keep anonymity.
