Hi all. Possibly looking for advice? So I work for a private medical practice. We rent spaces in the hospital but are a separate business. Well, the hospital is now buying us out. We will all be employees of the hospital starting in a couple months. Nobody's position is changing/ or compromised, except for me and "A". We work for billing, and the hospital will now be taking that over. This is all fine, but the problem is that all their billing department work from their other office that is.. an hour away from my house. My current commute is 15 minutes. I hate commuting and I turned down a position with the hospital almost 2 years ago because I didn't want to make that commute. Now I'm being forced into this position. Pay is same, benefits are slightly better, and it's a hybrid schedule AFTER 90 days.

Not to mention, before I met my new supervisors in person to discuss the changes, my current boss told me for certain that the in-person training is only 3 weeks and then it's a fully remote position. I bought a desk and everything expecting this change, and triple checked those details with her before I did so. Then when I met my new supervisors yesterday, that is when I learned about the hybrid schedule and 90 day training.

I'm honestly just really annoyed they told me differently. I don't want to sound ungrateful. I am glad that they made sure I have a position. And the market is horrible right now I definitely do not want to be searching elsewhere... but do I possibly have any pull to try to ask for more compensation or something? Every single employee is just automatically staying at their same current pay. So I'm not sure it's something up for discussion, and our meeting yesterday when I met them for the first time, my current boss was also there and so was "A", so I was not given a space to ask if any of these details are negotiable.

I also feel bad for "A", she has kids that go to school an hour in the opposite direction so she tried to remain professional yesterday but had to flat out tell them she can't make that work and she'll be looking for something else. It's just too far of a commute for us. I'm just at a loss. Any advice from anyone?

NOTE: I don't really have the wiggle room for that amount of gas even if I wanted it. I'm literally filing for bankruptcy next week. And my car guzzles gas like crazy, and might not even be able to handle the commute. She's old. Please any advice?
