I grew up watching New Vestroia after school. And I owned the OG video game. I decided a few months ago to get back into the series, just for fun, and decided to play my old copy of Battle Brawlers on the DS, and watch the show at the same time. I breezed through Season 1, and while it was *obviously* made for a demographic I am no longer a part of, I still enjoyed it. I started New Vestroia even more excited because that's the season I watched as a kid. I had a ton of those bakugan and I was excited to see them on-screen. Especially since streets were saying New Vestroia is the best season of the OG Bakugan run
And that's when I realized I'm sad that they ditched the older battle system in exchange for having one Bakugan a piece, (with a few exceptions in the first few episodes) I loved a lot of season 1's more generic non-guardian Bakugan. We don't really have a lot of those. And dgmw, I like a lot of the new guardians, Nemus and Percival kick ass. But I'd rather the option of collecting new ones like Anchorsaur, Hammersaur, Jelldon, and Rafflesian, rather than 6 new dragonoid variants, and traps (Traps get on my nerves tbh but I think I'm in the minority there) the few that we seemingly did get like Verias and Freezer are awesome!
I wish that the show maintained the huge variety of Bakugan we had in season 1 with awesome "fodder" bakugan like Siege, Mantris, Ravenoid, Manion, El Condor, and Monarus. Is this a hot take?
