It’s 1997, Janet has just resigned to Virgin for $80M four album deal, setting another new record as highest paid pop star. The TVR is finished and ready for commercial rollout.

IRL - we know what happened, GTIG was rejected by US Pop Radio, causing the album’s promo campaign to stumble out the gate despite Virgin throwing HUGE money at it - two videos for TA, two (ish) for IGL, and of course videos for GTIG, GD, You (live), and Every Time. A huge building high poster in NYC. International Promo campaigns around GTIG, TA, and IGL. The album initially sold only 2x Platinum in the USA, scraping to 3x in early 1999 after all promo wrapped up. This was half what Janet, and RN1814 had done, and ~60% of what Control had done.

So let’s put YOU in the driving seat in 1997. Which singles do you release, in which order? How do you do things differently?
